The “Excellence and Experience” enjoyed by NREC has formed our philosophy as expressed in our mission.
We support and endorse all what may contribute to developing and improving the standards of living of each individual and the society through direct or indirect contributions within the geographic area in which NREC operates, mainly focusing on Kuwait, the company’s place of establishment. We are working on supporting serious and effective efforts in each of the following fields: health, education, individuals with special needs, environment, family, young people, children, social reform, and other fields.

| What are the latest developments in regards to social responsibility? |
The “NREC Environmental Program” is a corporate program that aims to increase awareness about the risks that effect the environment around us, and the methods in finding fundamental and sustainable solutions for environmental issues.
Under the umbrella of its CSR, the company focuses on supporting environmental initiatives and activities that benefit society. The company also aims to continue wise economic and environmental policy as part of the company’s strategy by applying a protective approach to the environment and limit pollution levels. This approach is based on using renewable resources that ensure effective process of wastes to different recycling facilities.
The implementation of our CSR program is not limited to Kuwait. It is a business conduct and a strategy that we look forward to implementing in all NREC’s subsidiaries across all countries in which they operate.

| Why is NREC focused on social responsibility? |
Social responsibility is a modern concept that helps companies in the private sector become a cooperative partner in aiding governmental development plans towards social issues. We realize that a company’s worth is not solely dependent on profitability figures, but also on its active involvement with the community.
According to the International Business Bureau, development depends on three main factors; (1) economic growth, (2) social development and (3) environment protection. The last two form the foundation of our social responsibility commitment.

| What is the reason of company's interest in CSR? |
| Interest in CSR among companies has been increasing along with the increasing interest of consumers in the ethical behavior of companies. Companies are no longer seen merely as financial entities trying to turn a profit, but national entities, of which society depends on to perform some of the most important developmental roles for the community.
The practical implementation of CSR and the moral commitment of companies reflect positively on its own interests both internally and externally; by increasing employee loyalty and by eliminating the differences in conflict that might accrue between company management and the communities in which it operates. Moreover, CSR contributes to profitability and production.
